Hi everyone! The
FRENZEL FM - 5E1BF "Champ Blackface" is the latest version of our very versatile
FM-5E1 "Champ Plus". It can be used for a practice amp...or as a multi-tone tube preamp driver for a higher
powered amp. For you guys with solid-state amps....this amp will give you great tube sounds.

system to reduce induced current chassis noise.
Type F (Fender)
and Type M (Marshall) MODE switch on Gain control to select smooth Fender 5F6 warm tones or the Marshall JTM45 great high
mid tones.
Classic 60's JTM45 - Bassman 5F6 style 3-BAND TONE STACK for extended flexibility in shaping
your tone.
MASTER level
control so you can crank the GAIN's up and overdrive the preamp without overdriving the output tubes.
Post output
transformer LINE OUT with LINE OUT LEVEL control for driving a higher power amp, or for using this amp as a tube preamp/overdrive.
The post output trannie Line Output Jack with a Send Level control allows you to use this amp as an effects box....or
to drive a higher power amp with. If you unplug the speaker, an internal load is automatically connected across
the output to give you loaded output tube distortion. Since the output of the Line Out is post output transformer, you
can crank the Master up on the amp and then by adjusting the Line Out Level control to match the level required for
the amp you are driving, and then turning the Master or Volume control down on the amp you are driving, you can get loaded
output tube distortion at low power levels. This eliminates the need for an attentuator. You can also use the Line Out to
drive headphones.
Class A cathode
bias single-ended EL34 for those classic 60's warm blues tones. We also offer the choice of using other tubes in the
output stage like the 6V6,6L6, 5881, KT66, KT77, or KT88.
Custom
Hi-Fi type output transformer for extended low and high frequency performance... and with 4 - 8 - 16 ohm speaker outputs selectable
by a rotary switch.
Preamp tube
is a 12AX7..but you may also use 12AT7's or 12AU7's for different tones and less overdrive.

Thanks again Jim for this wonderful amp. The Champ
Plus you built for me gets great classic tones plugged straight in. With the gain at 10 o'clock it has a nice warm clean
tone. Turn the gain up to 2 o'clock and you hear some sweet breakup. With the gain passed 3 o'clock you get a
very nice crunchy breakup. The Hammond output transformer sounds very warm and sweet with a pleasing swirl that makes
notes shimmer and sing. It sounds huge when over-driven with a pedal. The F preamp is full and warm, and the M
preamp (my favorite) is more 'in your face', it has a more well defined sound-stage. When over-driven the M preamp has
excellent note definition and sweet singing harmonics. The tone-stack performs very well. The amp is built like
a tank. I've had it for two years, playing it almost every day and have not had any issues with it. I have recommended
this amp to other guitar players and will continue to recommend Frenzel amps. Sincerely,

FM5E1BF arrived undamaged two days ago, and I have been happily auditioning my modest supply of vintage tubes.
All functions tested and working well. I'm glad I had you add the low-power switch, as I am a 6V6 addict.

for a great product, perfect for an old rocker (67) who fondly remembers his first amp, a '59 Ampeg Jet (and about
